Police reports two Israelis were killed in Beit She'an attack
Police indicated that the assault began when a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle along Highway 71, followed by the stabbing of a young woman in the same area. The suspect was later “neutralized” by a passerby near a student housing intersection in the nearby city of Afula.
Authorities identified the attacker as a Palestinian from the occupied West Bank, who was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries. Investigations are ongoing at all sites connected to the incident.
In response, the Israeli army launched an operation in Qabatiya, a town in the northern West Bank. Military forces conducted what they described as “precise operational searches” at the attacker’s home, while deploying vehicles, a bulldozer, and troops throughout the streets.
Snipers were reported to have taken positions on rooftops.
Reports indicated that the attacker has been identified as Ahmad Abu al-Rob, 37, and that his father was arrested during the military operation. Israeli authorities also plan to implement a mobile security cordon around Qabatiya for several days, restricting movement in and out of the town as part of ongoing security measures.
