Man attacks pro-Israel rally in Colorado
A man was arrested in Boulder, Colorado after throwing Molotov cocktails at people attending a demonstration in support of Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza. Videos from the scene show a shirtless individual carrying what appear to be bottles filled with flammable liquid while shouting pro-Palestinian slogans. Later, he is seen lying on the ground as police move in to detain him.
Authorities have confirmed they are investigating this deliberate act of terror, with federal agents and local law enforcement already on site and promising to share further information as it becomes available. The Boulder Police Chief reported that officers responded to reports of a suspect “setting people on fire,” and confirmed several victims were hospitalized with injuries ranging from serious to minor.
A federal agent identified the suspect as a 45-year-old man named Mohamed Sabry Soliman, who was shouting “Free Palestine” during the attack that injured six people. The agent noted, “Sadly, attacks like this are becoming too common across the country.”
Since the response of Hamas to Israel genocide in October 2023, intense demonstrations supporting both sides have been occurring globally. The United States has witnessed a rise in anti-Semitic incidents, where some pro-Palestinian activists have targeted Jewish organizations and supporters of Israel.
Just last month, a man shouting pro-Palestinian slogans fatally shot two Israeli Embassy staff members outside a Jewish Museum in downtown Washington, highlighting the ongoing volatility surrounding the conflict.
